Re: Air con capacity

Sight glass on 134 is not particularly helpful People go on like the amount of refrigerant is some advanced science What you want is enough 134 to always create liquid in the rec/dryer and not so much to create liquid in the condenser Under all conditions And leave space for the eventual loss Easy r...

LH wiper motor

Anyone done this on LHD?
Since there is no different part number, I assume it is located differently.
After a stretch of serious rain the next day the wiper only moves 1/4 from park position. Even with wiper no on the windshield
It has seemed have been losing range on highway lately

Fuel pump: all the parts falling off of this car...

So, SU fuel pump became dodgy. Bought a brand new one, but since the problem was intermittent and rare, it sat in the boot for a few months. Finally died again[rap on the pump starts up again] , time to replace. Well, new one acts the same. Maybe a wiring issue? Cannot find anything. Disassemble the...

Re: New Member from Texas

Thanks Dave. I'll be on the lookout for Tim. And yes, its the one that had Hawaii plates. Although the car was consigned to a dealer in Illinois, I believe the previous owner simply had a second home in Hawaii. How long he might have had it there I don't know but that would have been so cool to dri...

Re: heater control is stuck on hot, Can I close off the hot supply to the heater in the engine bay,

You should be able to pop the clip and shut the valve in the engine bay. [although appears yours has no engine bay valve?] I installed a 2 way valve a while back and it seems to make the coolant temp a little more 'rational' when using the AC. The temp control always was stiff, and did finally pop o...

Re: Fuel system and E5/E10 fuels

Teflon is everything but nuclear proof. I have not ever seen a failure. Brake lines over 30 years. Fuel line over 35 years For the rubber style the braid keeps the sun off, and I honestly have not seen it die on cars over 25 years old. The only downside for teflon/braided is heat. Teflon will cold f...

Re: Fuel system and E5/E10 fuels

Teflon is blindingly expensive, thus would never have been used by Lotus Teflon will also stay pure white forever, and is not translucent It could be a nylon, but my feeling it is some poly oly something that you cannot pronounce I replaced the peeling fuel line with teflon/braided for fear of any e...

Interesting interior mods too Also the fuel pipes to the carbs are interesting. I think he said that is a Lotusbits kit/solution to replacing the original pipes. I did similar, black braided SS/teflon. Ran mine more similar to the original and added some spiral nylon to prevent chafing of the carb ...

Mine is rotten

Can it be pulled through when it is far gone or will it just break off inside the body somewhere?

Re: Speedometer for a 87 SE

The +2 had side sills, and the M100 had significant outer members. I mean, it is still a backbone as most TVRS have been AFAIK The chassis/frame on my M100 was very rusty. Painted not galvanised. The hoods leak unless they are well maintained soaking the carpet rotting the outriggers/ sills. My M10...
