Re: Prop shaft to diff bolts

Don't forget to drain the gearbox oil first - assuming you have a manual Excel - it pours out past the splines as you tilt the engine/box otherwise!

Re: S1 Eclat steering wheel bolts

Threads in aluminium parts are often coarse, so possibly UNC.

Re: Dash mount and door mirrors

I'm pretty sure my spare dashboard just has the steel plate and no mirror, but I'll check. I've forgotten the original manufacturer of the electric door mirrors  but I'll dig mine out to see if there are any brand markings. ISTR that they were also used on Aston Martins of the same period. Pete

Bugger - and it was such a brilliant work space. I really hope the Excel is OK!

Re: Friesian Elite for sale

I'm not sure it was an improvement, particularly. I understand that to prepare the seams meticulously to be able to just stick the trim on top was too time-consuming in the body shop, so the later system was used where virtually no prep is needed - quicker/cheaper.

Early cars were like that Richard - just had some trim stuck on the surface.

Good work - it would be good to see some before and after photos of the paintwork.
