Re: Mesh for Elite lower radiator inlet

The grills are on their way! However - I'm on holiday next week so I'll get in touch with you all when I'm back.

Re: Front exhaust downpipes

To fit possibly - not sure how much modification it would need for the Elite chassis/auto gearbox combo. I may end up making my own from scratch.

Shame you're so far away Neil! What would your estimate of postage to the UK be?

Thanks

Re: loose aerial

The aerial part itself is detachable so it must be hiding some sort of fixing.

Re: Early Excel steering lock shear bolts size

ISTR they are 1/4" UNC, but I'll check later if I can find a spare.

Re: High level brake light

I'd like one on the Elite but don't want to make holes in the rear end. Will probably end up with a slim glass-mount version, but it's a loooong way down the list! :D

Depending on the forecast I'm hoping to be there - sans Lotus, as usual

The grills are ordered. I'll let you know when they arrive. They have already said they are very busy, so not sure how long it will take.

Re: 1992 Excel SE - How far is too far?

One question is, are the heater vents in the dash easily removed? Easy to remove - tricky to put back. They are held in place by sprung steel clips which squish down as you pull the vent out. Getting them to sit back inside the flexible plastic vent trim behind them is challenging, to say the least...

Re: New Owner - Sorting Out the Car

If you leave the waistline trim off make sure you add extra strength to the same area on the inside of the car - I think the paint may crack along the joint due to flexing of the body shell otherwise. I also prefer the look of the Esprit without the trim :D.
