Cheers for that Richard. Sounds like I'll be relying on FCs colour matching process!

Trim code?
Did Lotus have trim codes for the Excel interiors? I'm getting some leather paint from Funriture Clinic using a colour match, I've taken a sample from behind the door trim and I'm about to send it off. FC's sample form asks for a Trim Code but I can't find one. The paint code from my chassis plate i...

Re: Torque settings - airbox nuts?
Thanks for the replies on this one guys, both helpful. I also looked a bit more carefullly at the service guide and I noticed that the Torque Loading section has a couple of catch-alls: "All other 6mm nuts or setscrews 1.0-1.1 kg/m 7-8 lb/ft" and "Studs - All other non-specified 8mm studs 1.7 kg/m 1...

Torque settings - airbox nuts?
I've been trying to fix my alternator that appears to have died and so i removed the airbox to be able to get to it. Now trying to refit stuff. Does anyone know the torque settings for the eight 10mm nuts that hold the airbox in place? I can't find any info in the service notes - am I missing someth...

Re: Spark Excel model
There's another Spark Eclat popped up on ebay recently: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256470260308 if anyone's looking for one of these. Not a bad price and nice colour too.

Re: New Excel model coming soon
I've got a few models (mainly Lotus) and I bought one of these as well in red and it seems like a nice model. Like everybody else I've got the raised hump on the back of the roof although I didn't notice it until I read Tony's post. Also like everyone else I've no idea why it's there! Mine also says...

Re: Jacking points etc - revisited
Many thanks for the info Peter. Maybe I'm being too cautious about jacking up using the bodyshell. Could I ask a couple of questions? At the front, do you place your offcut width ways just behind the wheel arch? And at the back, there's only about a 3 inch width of flat floor, so presumably you just...

Jacking points etc - revisited
My apologies for what asking what appears to be a newbie question – how do I jack up my Excel? This is the first time I’ve had to do this with a fibreglass car. I need to get some new tyres fitted and I don't trust taking her into a fitters so I'm going to take the wheels off, two at a time and take...

Re: Spark Excel model
If anyone's looking for one, there's a reasonably priced Spark Eclat model available at the moment on ebay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114623720871
From Hong Kong though so I think you'll end up paying some import duties when it arrives.

Re: Happy new year
Happy new year one and all, looking forward to a brighter 2021.
I think you're right about the lack of activity - there's a bit less to talk about when you're in lockdown.
I feel like I've been SORN'd together with my Excel for the last few months...

Re: Spark Excel model
OK great, I'll phrase an appropriately differing enquiry and send it off in a week or two. You can get the Spark Eclat models relatively easily, though sometimes the prices can be a bit on the steep side: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPARK-1975-Lotus-Eclat-S1-Red-1-43-Scale-Resin-Model-NEW-FACTORY-SEA...

Re: Spark Excel model
Good idea this one, I'll mail them as well in January.
Out of interest, did you just say "Please do a rerun of the S2219 Lotus Excel model" or how did you phrase it?
