Re: Spark Excel model

If anyone's looking for one, there's a reasonably priced Spark Eclat model available at the moment on ebay:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114623720871

From Hong Kong though so I think you'll end up paying some import duties when it arrives.

Re: Happy new year

Happy new year one and all, looking forward to a brighter 2021.

I think you're right about the lack of activity - there's a bit less to talk about when you're in lockdown.

I feel like I've been SORN'd together with my Excel for the last few months...

Re: Spark Excel model

OK great, I'll phrase an appropriately differing enquiry and send it off in a week or two. You can get the Spark Eclat models relatively easily, though sometimes the prices can be a bit on the steep side: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPARK-1975-Lotus-Eclat-S1-Red-1-43-Scale-Resin-Model-NEW-FACTORY-SEA...

Re: Spark Excel model

Good idea this one, I'll mail them as well in January.

Out of interest, did you just say "Please do a rerun of the S2219 Lotus Excel model" or how did you phrase it?

Re: Can I post pdf files?

Tony I'm guessing that your scanner software produces .pdf files? If so, two options spring to mind. - Either: Configure the scanner software to output to .jpg files, then use your dropbox and share approach. - Or: Scan to a .pdf file, then use a pdf viewer that allows copy/paste functions (eg "snap...

Re: Excel (and Lotus) magazine scans

I found another interesting article in my dusty collection of car magazines - a road test of the Eclat Riviera, courtesy of the 1982 Motor Road Test Annual https://i.ibb.co/nbqwdv2/Motor-Road-Tests-Annual-1982-Lotus-Eclat-Riviera-Page-1-2.jpg https://i.ibb.co/mSjHNT6/Motor-Road-Tests-Annual-1982-Lot...

Re: Fuel smell in boot

The built in luggage compartment petrol fragrancer is at times mighty useful, I can always locate my luggage in a hotel store room no matter how full the room may be (even with my eyes closed). Strangely my Excel has the fragrencer system fitted but not my Eclat or was it an optional extra on the E...

Re: Recolouring Leather/Vinyl

Cheers all. I guess I need to take the door card off then....actually the passenger door lock is playing up (how unusual for an Excel!) so it's going to have to come off soon anyway.

And btw Andy, that's a nice job you've done on the centre console.

Re: Recolouring Leather/Vinyl

Cheers for the post Andy, that panel looks good! There's a few places where my leather could do with some improvements, some bits with stains or where the dye has started to wear away. I've just got some Gliptone GT11&12 to try out but I suspect I'll need to try dyeing it. A question - you both ment...
