Re: Breakdown...sort of!

I have to say on my immobilizer I have set it so I can un plug it and using 2 wire links re link the 2 circuits it cuts. This just to allow me to short term delete the immobilizer from my trouble shooting list. Although now I could probably secure it all permanently. It was easy as I installed it in...

Re: Breakdown...sort of!

The only other thing is are there any disturbances to the loom from PO fitting alarms, radios etc. I removed 2 carrier bags full of wiring and useless crap that had been added to the car since manufacture. Stripping 2 wires, folding them together and pinching masking tape over them doesn't really do ...

Re: Breakdown...sort of!

I wouldn't bank on the warning lights flicking off immediately if the immobilizer or ignition circuits shut of. I don't know how they are powered and I am guessing but mine have done some odd things over the years and they have also illuminated for odd reasons showing circuits/ features that don't e...

Re: Breakdown...sort of!

Internals of ignition switch or an imobilizer if fitted? Could you rig up a separate direct from the battery supply to the ignition on the nodiz or dizzy and a separate supply to start it then find if it runs for more than a few seconds and work your way backwards etc.

Re: Crank position sensor mount??

I have just purchased a sensor mount from Lotusbits and toothed wheel. I decided to fit a new cam belt at the same time, only 2000 miles on it but 3 years since a £4.5k lotus bits rebuild. On removing the pulley I have found my tensioner was also fitted like Tonys in the pic above. http://s1023.phot...

Re: lotus bits 2.5 engines

I think its mainly space and cost. I think someone has done it with the turbo at the front of the engine but its quite complicated.

Thermal ignition valve thread size?

I need to fit a temperature sensor to go with the mapped ignition somewhere before the thermostat and rad pipe system. One easyish place is to replace the tiv between the carbs. Does anyone know what size the thread is so I can order one before removing the vac one.

Re: Crank position sensor mount??

That's fantastic Tony I am grateful for the pics. I am probably going to get a sensor bracket and pulley wheel from Lotusbits as although its not cheap It will fit and save me mucking about. I have even less space in the front of the engine in my esprit so your pics are invaluable. Thankyou once aga...

Re: Carburettor Refurb

Sorry I cant remember the size it was 2 years ago but it was big enough to drop a whole carb into. Not much spare space but enough to cover it.

Re: Carburettor Refurb

Get your hands on a ultrasonic cleaner ( buy and then sell it when finished on ebay). The amount of crud that was in my carbs was amazing and when cleaned blow them through with an air line.

Re: Alternative Air Filter/Box

Is the tjs obsolete with mapped ignition. I don't have ac so its not needed for that only raising revs at starting and theres something about it triggering on deceleration from memory???
It would certainly make life easier if its not needed as the kit is made to fit the front end of the carb.
