If pin or bushes are worn, you won't do it without a full strip down of the door. There's not enough room to draw the pin out without hitting the fibreglass curve of the door.
If it's just a stiff pin that won't turn in the bush you MIGHT get it free by removing both nuts top and bottom, then ...

Re: Insurance for 2025
It was 10 months ago, but I got 12 months cover plus recovery for £118 last June with Grove and Dean.
I'll be honest I was more interested in keeping legal and didn't bother with an agreed value.
Previous year was with Lancaster at £168, which again was with recovery and had an agreed value. I had ...

Re: G Valve working correctly?
My G valve was so corroded the ball was stuck in position.
Thanks Lozza. I'd read somewhere that they were virtually indestructible and just didn't go wrong so very useful to know you had problems.
Did you repair the old unit or was it too badly corroded?
Also looks like the end cap can be removed ...

Not in the register ( or at least wasn't
)
Shame there are no photo's of past paperwork or something that would have given up the original UK registration.

Re: Brake servo gone again?
Sounds very much like pressing brake pedal opens up the vac pipe to atmosphere (which it shouldn't).
Try running engine at tick over and just pulling the vac supply pipe off. If engine behaves same as hitting the pedal, you boosters Donald Ducked.

G Valve working correctly?
Rear discs on my car are not shiny and lightly scored circumferentially as I would consider normal.
Brake pad wear is hardly noticeable since I bought car around 6000 miles ago.
Disks look slightly mottled. Not rusty and not pitted, just a bit speckly. Both faces of both discs look the same ...

Re: Newbie Lotus Owner
I have a Lucas AB14 tester if you are ever over west oxford way.
Are you going to Castle Combe and it portable we enough to bring with you? I have spare which I'm sure is good, but like to test.
I'm getting a consistent 3.5k ohms with the wire routed and pulled a few different ways, so all good ...

Re: No Spark Gremlins
Was just reading back through this thread and came across this from HC180 at the foot of page 1:
I had the same symptoms. It was the connector in the middle of the AB14 to distributor wire (under the carbs/airbox). Pushed the bullet through the rubber housing and managed to re-use. It was hanging ...

Re: Newbie Lotus Owner
An easy check for the distributor pick up is to check the resistance at the AB14. It should be around 2.5K ohm.
when I checked mine on the car, I got anything between an open circuit and a reasonable resistance. The reading is VERY sensitive to the quality of the contact you make to the red and ...
