I've had trouble with PM's before.

Re: Paint Job Cost

Richard Did you ask each how long they'd need the car? I wouldn't mind betting the £2000 quote would have had the car back to you in a matter of days - maybe even same day!! . The £6k probably several weeks. You don't need me to point out this is all about how much labour they intend to spend on the...

Re: Door Check Strap - early Excel

There are differences both on the strap mechanism and on the boss at the top hinge plate. Then even with the newer design Hawaiis0 posted there are two subtle differences. Get them mixed and either the door won't shut, or it opens, but not as far.!!! I'd suggest changing like for like. What's the ot...

The enthusiasm will return as soon as we can all restart a more normal life and get some meetings again.
Thanks for the update. I'll get thinking about my next steps.

Re: Headlining

Peter : Did your leather roof lining progress?
Not that I need another project, but as most of the interior is out of my car at present, and the lining is sagging, it might make sense for a bit of spec creep.

Re: Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show 2021

I'm thinking this has landed 10 days too early (or rather Boris' unlock plans are running 10 days too late) . If all goes to plan, indoor events will be capped at 1000 people from 17th May (or 50 % capacity, which ever is SMALLER), then unlimited from 21st June. Apparently 28000 people went to the l...

Leather repairs : Drivers seat was a mess https://www.dropbox.com/s/3qqsoemzxfm6cej/210222a.jpg?raw=1 Furniture Clinic products to the rescue, - full works from filler to full re-colouring. Hard (as in time consuming) work, but very rewarding and pleased with the results. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3...

Re: Excel for sale

Sounds like an estate agent wrote the advert. If you put "what appears to be" in a sentence, you might as well not bother writing the rest. A bit like putting "but" in the middle of a sentence - Code for "ignore all that's gone before". But, what appears to be.. Oh dear. Confusing myself now with my...

Re: Excel Interior Update

Tidy that B post up while it's off. Won't surprise you to know there's a plan in place. It's going black leather for the time being ( as long as I can get the shape in where the seat belt fits). Might as well use what I have lying around. :D Longer term, the roof lining all needs doing, so might ch...

Magneto Quarterly Publication

https://www.magnetomagazine.com/store/products,issue-7-autumn-2020_41.htm I had a couple of copies of this quarterly publication as a Christmas present this year. This copy has a strong Lotus content, but the articles in general are very informative and well written. It look's more like a soft back...

From Brown to Gold :D :D :D One panels still untreated. Pretty obvious which one. Even more noticeable in sunlight. https://www.dropbox.com/s/geaukrj402y34wl/210220a.jpg?raw=1 It's been a long slog to do it properly, but I'm very pleased with the results. Sorry to hear your wow's. Keep at it and something will turn up.

If you recall we spoke mid last year and were going to meet up, then we hit full restrictions again - You're pretty close to me.
A nice run out. When we are allowed, I'll arrange to drop by. Would still love to see your Elite.

Is that a scan or did you photo to page? I've never found out how to post anything other than a jpg file. 😕
Thanks for posting.
