Re: The Winterbottom Run

Sounds like a plan. I'm in. Be good to see how it develops.
One small point.
. each a decent distance North, West and South of Norwich -
Decent distance north. Qualifies only one car. - Mr Bonds 😊

Re: 83 Excel from from Finland

I've edited earlier post on radio types and added the part numbers. Logic would suggest the earlier radios are the lower numbers. 2 numbers are sequential, which suggests to me this may have been an option upgrade One is an 082 model number, so obviously shared with another model. Sure someone here ...

Re: New owner

That's a real mix of cars / motorbikes for sale in the background Clive.
Was it a dealer who just didn't know what he liked, or a collection being sold off?

Durrrrrrr. Silly me.
As we say in England, "can't see the wood for the trees" . - and I know there's no shortage of trees in Finland.

Really liking this idea. How about mid May to coincide with release of the Elite.
Weather and roads also brightening up by then.
. - but will I go in the Elite or the TVR?
Either will do nicely. Just don't show up in a TR7.

Re: OE Front Fog Lamps on E Bay

Second confession of the week. T'was me. One of my lenses was badly cracked, so will tidy front up nicely when I do the bumper. Got a bit more expensive though, as Ebay's clever algorithms suggested I might be interested in some NOS L811 lens's. Not half. Perfect for the Elite front side light / ind...

Was a good listen and quite informative. Well worth listening to the whole session.
I've put Ollie's book on my list to Santa.

Re: Lotus Elite Luggage

Be showing up next with that lass on the Repair Shop. Now that would be a neat trick if you could pull it off. She seems to achieve miracles with leather restoration. Just a shame for someone that 5th case is not there. Still I wouldn't say no, but not sure I can attach that sort of price tag to the...

Re: Front caliper slide bushes and seals.

I'd seen that set on Fleabay. It was the picture of what looks like a rubber bush with gator moulded each end that made me think the bottom bush may have been a tight fit in a rubber bush.

Or are the contents of the kit not what they appear in teh picture?

Re: Front caliper slide bushes and seals.

Thanks John I was tempted to remove the caliper from the car so I could attack it properly, but whilst there was a possibility it was operating correctly (particularly as both sides were the same) I was hesitant. Now I know they've got to come off sometime soon. Have you found a source for spare bus...

Front caliper slide bushes and seals.

Can anyone tell me how the fixed slide Bush is attached to the front caliper. After removing the single M8 bolt, I can now swing the caliper up away from the pads (top slide was seized but eventually was persuaded to free up). I then tried pushing the bottom Bush out that the M8 fixing bolt passes t...

I've got a couple of metres of fuel filler breather pipe surplus.
Shouldn't be too hard to find a route through the dash to the drivers seat head rest.
Coffee might be cold by the time it reaches me though.....

Feeling it might be time to stop soon with the black highlights. All are reversible / interchangeable though very easily, so I can mix and match as the feeling takes. https://www.dropbox.com/s/y2ekl24rxbq9541/20115a.jpg?raw=1 Just one more winter project for the inside to go. - Materials obtained Ju...
