Planning to go again this year but in the Elan. Given the nature of the roads (mostly small narrow country roads), keeping up with more modern Lotus cars should not be an issue and it's not a race anyway...

Re: 1987 Excel SE gearbox mount
I used part 'Toyota 12371-34020 - insulator, engine mount, rear' for my 1983 Excel. It was identical to the originaly fitted part. I purchased mine from Amayama. It was £22, but another £40 for shipping (10 days for delivery). Hopefully this is a picture of the old and new parts https://www.thelotu...

Re: 1987 Excel SE gearbox mount
Hi Alan,
Many thanks
I had found that posting and the Toyota part number of 12371-34020, but just wanted confirmation as I was told that this is for the automatic gearbox?
Do you know if it's available in the UK?
Thanks
Carl

1987 Excel SE gearbox mount
Hi,
Am I correct I assuming the gearbox mount for my 1987 SE is a Toyota part? If so does anybody have the correct Toyota part number. Even paying for shipping buying a Toyota mount from the US or Australia seems to be about half the price of buying one from the UK?
Thanks in advance
Carl

Hi,
Do you have the little nylon blocks which fit into the metal instrument panel which the wooden panels screw into, mine are starting to fall apart?

Re: Lotus Ypres Meet 2022
It's not a race so pretty calm so no problem keeping up with the 'newer' Lotus cars. The roads were quite narrow and windy so good "Lotus" roads..
Not sure why the photo is not showing??

Lotus Ypres Meet 2022
Just back from this amazing Lotus meet, 130+ lotus cars but only 3 (perhaps 4) of our 'rare' breed. Two Excels, a lovely silver Eclat and I think one Elite (or did I imagine that). A 150 mile run across the back roads of Flanders with the obligatory lunch, afternoon and evening dinner. I can definit...

Spotted in Ypres last Thursday (26th May)
Lovely green Excel spotted at the Ypres Lotus Day Meet on Ascension Thursday last week. There were over 130 Lotus cars there but only two Excels (ours plus the green one). Shows how 'special' our cars are!

Speedometer for a 87 SE
Hi,
Just wondered is anybody was selling a VDO speedometer for my 1987 SE? Mine works but the odometer seems to stop on a regular basis. I am in Cambridgeshire.
Thanks
Carl

Re: Donington Historic Festival 1-2 May
Hi,
Just missed the early booking discount but tempted to go on the Saturday with the Excel. Went two years ago on the Friday, very wet but a great day out even though there were only a few cars there. I was even lucky enough to meet the 'great man' Oliver Winterbottom himself!!
