Re: NEC Restoration Show - 22-24 March 2024

In a word - no. Anodised trims were wrapped, a few minor paint blemishes, but biggest issue looked to be drivers door, which had dropped significantly. Window frames didn't look great either. Alan and I reckoned it would have been a good buy at £12K. Particularly as it's done very few miles in last...

Looks like the Excel being auctioned didn't sell. It shows as a buy it now price of £8,650.
The gold Elite looks to have sold for £15,750.

Tony
The Excel reached £6k in the auction, but as you say wasn’t sold.

I am keen to put carpets in my car and was wondering where you where on the templates, as I am keen to borrow them
Coverdale have templates - they sent a set to me to check fit when I ordered a set from them. I marked up what I needed and returned them.

Re: Electric window

If applying power make sure you put negative to the body of the motor and positive to one of the contacts in the plug - one will be up, the other down.

Re: Lotus in the Peak 2024

So being a LITP newbie, do I get from this there will be nothing organized for during the day on Saturday? Maria was hoping to visit something in Matlock at some point on our travels and from this it looks like she could do that on the Saturday? In which case we will do that and plan the few days e...

Re: Door lights

The switch position can be adjusted. Try holding in each one as far as it will go to see if that turns out the lights. If it does adjust switch. If not, then going to need to use tester on switches, or pull wires as Tony says to eliminate each one in turn. Driver’s side not too difficult, passenger’...

Re: Steering stiff

There are 2 different columns fitted depending on year.
I had about 15mm in/out play on an early one - lower bearing completely shot. Also the lower dome that bolts to the bulk head was rotten - managed to get a good used one.

Re: Steering Rack - Why rigid mounted not isolation bush

As Marten says - more precise control. What our cars are renowned for, so I’d certainly want to keep the original setup. Having a rubber bush will allow small movements of the rack losing some of the precision and feedback between road and hands. Similar concept to using rose joints rather than rubb...

I “think” that’s their normal price.

Re: Riviera

The seller reckons it could do with a repaint at some point. They either have very high standards, or the photos are lying, it looks pretty damned good to me! That’s the problem with photos and paint. It may look great in a photo from 10’, but could still be covered in micro blister or have other p...
