Re: The last of the pre-production Excels for sale on facebook

Blind shots on the MOT checker web sites and BVF262Y is also an Excel - White registered between the 2nd and 5th pre production. Most likely another of the 5. BVF 266Y is also a lotus, but unfortunately the model is not recorded, nor an exact registered date. BVF 264Y is an Elite. A few good entrie...

Re: The last of the pre-production Excels for sale on facebook

Tony - do you have this one on the register? Nope - new entry at number 3 👍 How do you know it's a pre production - just the reg date? Any idea of VIN etc? Tony VIN I messaged the seller and he gave it to me - 1148 When I saw reg BVF 267 Y is very close to the prototype BVF 261Y it made me curious.

Re: boot lid catch has failed

Try pushing down on the boot lid while trying to turn the lock - takes a little load off the release mechanism.

Re: Carb Balancing

Tim Engel (Esprit2) has written a very good guide to balancing carbs.
It’s in the files section of our Facebook group
- https://m.facebook.com/groups/174212968 ... 586587390/

Also, you should find it on here with a quick search.

Re: Club polo shirts, fleeces etc.

Looks good.

Would it make any difference to size if the “ www” was dropped as not really needed these days and the lotusexcel.net was in lower case?

Re: Elite 50th Anniversary - Lancaster Insurance support

It would be nice to have some of those flag type banners to help identify our stands at the NEC and other shows where there is a group attending.
They may want their name on there as well, just depends how large they would want their logo.

Re: 1985 2.2LC

All Excels had electronic ignition as standard.
It’s a Lucas constant energy system with an AB14 module mounted on the right inner wing. It was fitted to other cars eg Jags.
Note the coil is also specific to this system.

“Teddy bear” fabric
If you'd posted that last Monday I wouldn't have took it seriously. 😀

Not sure I've seen it. Anyone got a photo?
This is it in an Esprit

I’ve seen the same in Eclat and Elite.

Re: Lotus in the Peak 2024

I’ve just noticed the Classic run isn’t starting at Carlton Lees as last couple of years. I’m sure it did say Carlton Lees when tickets first released, but now - Classic run start point is Yondermann Café SK17 8RW on the A623. Still about 30 mins from the Manifold. For those staying on Friday Who wo...
