Re: NEC Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show 2020

I guess with the way things are going at the moment it was inevitable.
From tomorrow it would even be illegal for me to go at the moment 😱
Let’s hope for a better year next year and I’m happy to support next year’s stand.

Driver’s seat back collapse

Well I was happily driving along when suddenly instead of looking at the road I was looking at the roof   It seems the recline mechanism suddenly gave and now it won’t hold the seat back in position. I plan on stripping this down to see what’s happened - has anyone done this before and...

Re: High Hydrocarbons

The photo of the cams looks like the marks are not opposite each other? When checking cam position it’s not good enough to just have the marks opposite each other as they can be opposite each other and you can still be a tooth out. I know because this was how mine was when I bought it and the cambel...

Paintwork looks like it’s been brushed on - paint brush bristle stuck in paint on boot lid 🤣
Inside of doors and door shuts are yellow? Expected to see yellow under bonnet, but white?
Engine a bit lumpy on idle.

Re: Castle Combe Autumn Classic 3-4 Oct

The pits and paddock are great to walk around and get up close to the cars, but if we can walk around the track and I assume other club stands, I think that’s enough to persuade me to go. 1 day will probably be enough though - unless I book in for both days and take Excel one day and Elan the other ...

Re: Castle Combe Autumn Classic 3-4 Oct

Had a reply back - stand location won’t be allocated until next week after the closing date for buying a ticket. I’m deciding whether to take a chance and buy a ticket hoping either for a better location than last year, or maybe on the day some movement will be allowed. Not sure how they will actual...

Re: Rear window shattered

I would suggest contacting lotusbits. I know they do new front, not sure about rear, but I would expect they have a used one.

Thanks. Didn’t know it was possible to fit the Cobo lens to the Lucas back.

Front side/indicator lights

I have Lucas ones fitted to one, but the lenses are not in great shape, nor are the rear sections. Is it a straight swap to replace these with the Cobo units? Do the Lucas ones have any advantages over the Cobo units to justify the considerable price difference for new ones?

Re: Cooling System

I've read through this thread before, but I didn't have an Excel back then. Now I read earlier antifreeze was "red coolant". In general (but not always), red coloured coolant/corrosion inhibitors are of the 'OAT' variety, which I believe is not suitable for our cars. The type of antifreeze that's s...

Re: Castle Combe Autumn Classic 3-4 Oct

Email came from AnneMarie Brien. I have emailed back to ask if we would be in the same place as last time as if so, I don’t see me going.

Re: Castle Combe Autumn Classic 3-4 Oct

Looks like spectating will be very limited. Just received this via email from ClubLotus Just to confirm about the confusion re spectating. The website states there will be NO PUBLIC Spectating. If you have booked to be on our stand YOU WILL be able to spectate the racing from our designated area. If...

Re: Headlining

My A posts don't need recovering ..but do they need to be removed in order to remove other roof lining trims (like the sun visor header rail) ? You don’t need to touch the A post trim to remove the section with the sun visors. You need to pop the cover off the base of the mirror and remove the scre...
