Re: First job jobbed - 2 more found !!!
I would be interested in the seat repair thread, not that my seats need repair (yet) but to learn general leather repair tricks.

Re: Elite fuel filler caps etc
I think Jaguar XJs didn't run vented caps but had a vent pipe that went up the D-post and back down again.
I imagine they would be fine on a Europa.

Haven't been to Hinckley for a while so I'll let them know I plan to go to the Sunday event. I don't know about the evening events but would like to attend one of them.

Warning lights
I noticed the other day that, when I turned on the ignition, the only warning light that worked was for the choke. Checking showed that the turn signal warning lights and main beam lights were working but no handbrake, ignition or seat belt warning. Today I took out the dash (I found it useful to lo...

Re: Ebay Elite
I've seen this car recently, maybe on a Facebook group. Found it on this page https://www.facebook.com/groups/1614494 ... /729254255.
It was originally for sale for £10k. Paintwork is not so good.

Re: Channel Island Elite For Sale.
I suspect if you actually saw it, it's a bit ropey around the edges, but could well be a good canvass for improvement. Strange looking Lotus badge on the driver seat which is barely hiding the trouble beneath. And steering wheel looking very tired. Then there's red bumpers, although I fully underst...

Re: Rear Fog lights / Horn not working
I think modern automatic transmissions are designed to work with electronic engine management systems, using ignition retard and drive-by-wire throttle to smooth the changes. With a carburetted Lotus, one would have to do some electronic work arounds to avoid it going into fault mode because it's no...
