Re: Purge Pump
It stopped after about 10mins, probably when the engine cooled down, seems to be functioning correctly after motor change

Undertray
Hi,
My car has never had an undertray. Got a new one made by SJ which has no holes pre-drilled in it. Could someone tell me what type and size of fixings it needs so I can get all the parts before I rent a ramp to fit it.
Regards
Grant

Purge Pump
Hi,
Just changed the motor inside the purge pump. Can anyone tell me how the temperature sender connects to the pump, it is just via the relay with the 2, 2ap fuses?
Regards

Re: Rev counter
After a little detective work I got the rev counter working. The rev limiter was the cause. SJ says they dont make them anymore, I found a second hand one on ebay so Ill see if that works. Could anyone suggest an after market modern alternative.

Re: Want to see some silly prices
I contacted this guy because I wanted an undertray. He said he wanted £120 for his battered one and i'd have to bid for it on ebay even though I pointed out that I could get one from SJ for £53+vat unbattered! Hes now put it on ebay for £100 so ive now bought one from SJ.

Oil Pressure
Hi,
Could any tell me what there oil pressure is at idle when hot. The manual says 5lb/sq.in which if i am converting it correctly on my VDO 5 bar gauge is .34. I am at about 1 bar with new oil which is thinner than the black gunk I just removed.
Regards

Overflow pipe
Hi,
My car for some reason had never had an overflow pipe form the expansion tank (just a 2 inch piece of hose), so i am fitting one. So my question is where does the other end go, does it just hang randomly passed the rad somewhere and also where does it clip to on the way down.
Thanks
Grant

Front indicator housing
Hi, I cant see how to remove the front indicator housing. The two bolts at the back, one of which has the earth cable (i think) to it, just go round and round. Any suggestion how to get behind and hold whatever it rotating behind. Looked at removing the fog lamp below but that also doesn't want to c...

Rev counter
Hi, I've tried to solve this issue before but never been successful. The rev counter has never worked (not for 20 years). So the questions I have are; 1. How can I test if its the rev counter itself that's at fault (other than buying a new one) 2. Could it be something else like the rev limiter, if ...

Coolant change
Hi, Looking to replace coolant, probably not been done for sometime and the expansion unit is full of crud so that need a good clean out. So questions are: 1. What's the easiest way to get to the rad drain plug.. Only have jack. 2. What's the best way to get all the old gunk out of the radiator. 3. ...

Re: Caliper piston
Managed to change piston and replace slider seals etc. In the end I clamped the hose. Disconneting the bracket that holds the brake hose to the caliper was a bit of a challenge, probably never been removed since it was built. Found load of sticky gunge behind the piston, probably why it wasn't retur...

Caliper piston
Hi,
I need to change one of my front caliper pistons. I want to avoid loosing too much break fluid and I dont want to use a clamp on the break hose. Can anyone suggest how I can stop all the break fluid draining out the master cylinder whilst I work on the caliper.
Thanks
Grant

Re: Which engine
The rev counter has never worked(long story) so can only tell by sound but I agree that when its got it self going it performs better. Wouldn't even attempt to race someone off the lights, not that I would ever do that on a public road officer! And whilst i am here I thought I would relate my comica...
