Re: Remove wiper motor

When i repaired my motor, i left the spindle alone and just pulled the actuator rod out of the tube to the spindle. I think i undid the nut that holds the tube to the motor and pulled the motor complete with rod ( covered in grease) out.

Re: Coolant change

The drain hole is shown as on the right side. You will need to remove the under tray. Otherwise try the lower hose on left side and flush with hose pipe from the otter switch. I never bleed mine or had an issue when swapping the rad. Hopefully you wont either. On both my excels, there was a cut out...

Re: Vdo Speedo problems

I bought my '86 Excel SE a few days ago, and for the test drives and the first hundred miles or so there were no problems. Before I set off home to Devon I set the tripometer reading to zero. The speedometer then refused to work. Going by the previous comments on this thread it appears that it can ...

Re: Fog light activation causing headlight pod vibration

Yes it does sound like the neutral is getting a Ghost feed from fog live confusing the lift motor. if the motor gets a real live feed and neutral one at same time the motor will vibrate slightly as its trying to rotate both ways at once.

Re: Oil Pressure.

I've steered clear of the Comma brand, mainly due to my own ignorance about the quality, but I suspect it's cheap for a reason. Anyone on here have any positive experiences with Comma engine oil? Happy to be put right on the quality. I'd second the 10/60 for properly hot climates, but steer clear o...

Re: good old excel

spoke too soon! although warmer now, it took an absolute age for the engine to reach "normal" temp. I thought the fans were stuck on but no. on way home it warmed up as normal within 3 miles so im guessing the thermostat might have been stuck open so new one on the way.
